The CabriO cableway has received its winter cover

On 25 November 2024, the CabriO cable car received a colourful winter blanket - an impressive community project that demonstrates the creativity and cohesion of the region.

Since May, around 100 knitting enthusiasts have been working on this work of art as part of the ‘Knitting on Mount Stanserhorn’ campaign. Over 1,100 handmade wool squares were used to create a blanket measuring around 5 x 13 metres, which has been carefully sewn together over the past few weeks. The project not only symbolises warmth and protection, but also brings people together through shared craftsmanship.

Even though the blanket has already been removed, it remains an eye-catcher. It now adorns the funicular railway in the Stans valley station and can be admired there until after the Stanser Wiänachtsmärcht. After that, the ceiling will be transformed into smaller pieces. These will be used to keep the guests of the Stanserhorn cable car warm or donated to charitable organisations.
