The exciting trip up the Stanserhorn on the CabriO cableway and funicular railway, which dates back to 1893, is like taking a trip through cableway history. A 100 kilometer Alpine chain, 10 Swiss lakes, Stanserhorn rangers, marmots, a plant protection area with enchanting flora and fauna, culinary delights in the Stanserhorn revolving restaurant, the specialty Älplermagronen from an edelweiss pot and lots more are just waiting to be discovered on the Stanserhorn. 1,900 meters above everyday life – recommended by leading lazybones.
Marmots have been on the Stanserhorn since 1912. The enclosure between the mountain station and the summit is home to the Stanserhorn marmots, some of whom were born up here, and all continue to build their dwellings in the summer so that they can hibernate in their padded cave during the winter months. When marmots detect danger, they warn each other with loud whistles. That’s why you can photograph the animals, but you should never whistle. Otherwise, they’ll be gone.
The deltas are set up in the area to the right of the hiking trail leading to the summit. At this point there is a starting point to the south and north. The official paragliding launch site is located on Rinderalp, east of the restaurant, and is a 20-minute walk away. No rescue equipment is available at the launch sites. On busy days we can transport deltas and paragliders before 10 a.m. and again after 2 p.m. Thank you for your understanding.
The Stanserhorn is officially designated a plant protection area. The floral world on Stans’ local mountain is diverse and unique. Beautiful flowers and plants can be discovered on the Stanserhorn throughout the year. In spring you are greeted by crocuses, snowdrops and daffodils. Later you will find Turk's cap lilies, wild man and globeflowers. Did you know that there are 13 different orchids on the Stanserhorn? They bloom mainly in May to June.
As part of a comprehensive energetic interplay, places of power are sources of lines of force that extend across all continents. Places of power are natural energy zones. Lines of force cover the world.
The world-renowned geobiologist Blanche Merz takes you to more than 100 special places of power in all Swiss cantons. The Stanserhorn is home to bundled base rays from three sides, amounting to 22,000 Bovis units. This corresponds to the power potential of the Pyramid of the Moon of Teotihuacán in Mexico, where humans became gods. The point with the maximum perceptible force effect can be found at the fire pit to the southeast.
Experience to fly free like a bird on a hang gliding tandem flight. Start by enjoying the trip on the CabriO cableway up to Mt Stanserhorn and take off on a tandem flight back to Stans. You will fly with an experienced pilot over a unique panorama of lakes and mountains.
Recommended by leading lazybones! This is the slogan of the Faulenzer (Lazybones) Club on the Stanserhorn. And they should know. So you can relax on the Stanserhorn with a clear conscience, as the Stanserhorn was officially designated Lazybones Mountain in 2006. Today, you can make yourself at home in the lounging zone, have the panoramic view explained on the rondel on the terrace or send a greeting on a prepared card. It’s wonderful to simply relax and unwind again.
